Marco Polo fabricates sheet, wire, rod and sizing stock in gold, platinum and silver. Although we occasionally have stock on hand, we generally fabricate to order. This has two advantages. First we are able to keep the small and medium sized user’s cost down substantially and secondly, we are able to meet the specialized needs such as special alloys, karats, tempers, thickness and sizes. Unlike most mill product providers, we are quite willing to fabricate with your metal in even small quantities. Besides normal 10, 14, 18 karat, we specialize in custom alloying unusual karats, colors, tempers such as 22, 21 and 20kt yellows, extra soft whites, special greens, pinks and more. Specialty alloys are fabricated at a premium to the % above intrinsic listed for the normal 10, 14 and 18s on a case by case basis. 1) Metal is available through Marco Polo for contract fabrication by purchasing appropriate gains (see shot and sponge trading chart) or by purchasing fine metals and alloys when available. In either case, payment for metals is in advance.
2) With customer metal, fabrication losses can vary depending on type of material submitted for processing.
